After leaving Oxford, David and Helen founded Genty Fine Interiors in 1984. A fascination for painted decoration and historic interiors led them to carry out many decoration projects in the finest houses in London and the country.
Being trained initially in fashion and design, Helen has a natural eye for colour and fabrics. Her ability to understand and interpret the clients’ wishes is intuitive.
Frequently asked for advice on all aspects of property restoration, David decided to grow the business and take on complete turn-key commissions. Genty Fine Interiors deals with the whole project management, the various trades, ordering all furnishings, supplying art works to compliment the decoration, even making sure the clientʼs favourite champagne is in the cooler and their perfume in their bathroom cabinet.
David and Helen now work mostly through architects Richard Holden and Andrew Harper, and for a small group of clients, focussing on the preparation of schemes for residential interiors, colours, finishes and the supply of furniture, furnishings and lighting… and art work, of course!
Examples of Genty Fine Interiors previous work can be found in our gallerys here and on our Houzz portfolio of projects here.
They work closely with curtain makers Deanswood, the furniture designer Paul Levy and all the major fabric houses — Rubelli, Watts, Marvic, Abbott & Boyd — and are UK importers of Italian antique reproduction painted furniture from Casa d’Arte Paoletti.
Bespoke suppliers are sourced to fit clients’ individual requirements but David and Helen also have a list of trusted, quality manufacturers and regularly work with:
