Initially trained as a dancer at the Paris Conservatoire, Carole studied modern literature at the Sorbonne where she took a Masters. Carole continued to paint throughout this time and subsequently studied under Philippe Lejeune at the Atelier de la Vigne.

Her work has a tender grace and poetry. It also has a mysterious quality — viewing her work, one feels one is looking through a sort of mist or haze.

Yet how to describe the indescribable? “To evoke without defining, to give another vision, the interior of reality,” Carole writes. “It’s not just a matter of technique, it’s a language which enables one to see reality in different ways — a kind of balanced harmony which is ready to disappear and which enables one to see it like a strange but familiar apparition.”

To capture or, rather, to liberate this fleeting, ever-shifting reality is Carole’s démarche.
